How did this average girl, living in an average household in the Bronx leave NY at 16 to attend an Ivy League college then have a successful career in both medicine and business?
First- I had a clear vision of who I was and what I wanted to become. As a child I knew I wanted to be ‘the doctor that delivered babies’ even before I knew the correct term. Then after reading and learning about wealth I knew that having a thriving business was also part of my path.
Second- I took action. I didn’t just dream about becoming a physician, I took action everyday. The first step was to get the best grades I could get. All of the rest of the steps unfolded once I set my direction. The same applied to business. Learn then do. When I failed at reaching a goal I got back up and re-studied, re-learned and re-did. I understood the assignment and nothing was going to stop me from reaching my goal.
Third- I had a community of people supporting, guiding, advising and holding me accountable. We all need a community of people to live a full and empowered life.
